Do your best and God will do the rest.

Today, June 13, I changed the string on my weed eater! You may not think this is a big deal, but I thought this was going to be one of the hardest things to do. I didn’t really think I would be able to do it, but I said I would try, anyway. And…I was able to do it. Just like completing a doctorate degree, I didn’t think I would be able to do that, either. However, I said I will at least start the program. Then God showed me that it was possible and I could do it. As Phillipians 4:13 says, I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. I am so glad that in those times when I think something is impossible, God gives me the wherewithal to try and then He shows me, “Child, I’ve got you. All things are possible with me.” Whatever you are facing that you think is too difficult, too far-fetched, too big of a dream, I encourage you to try with all your strength and let God show you what is possible with Him! Inevitably, I had to do more than say I’ll try. I actually had to give an effort, attend class and satisfactorily complete assignments in the doctoral program. I had to do more than think I would try to restring the weed eater, I had to take it apart and watch a YouTube video on how to change the string. Give an effort, your best effort and give God an opportunity to show Himself great in your circumstance!

Changing the weed eater string wasn’t even difficult. However, I had never tried to change it, before. I assumed it would be difficult. It looked difficult when someone else did it. I feared the unknown. Don’t let the unknown or someone else’s struggle stop you from accomplishing your goals and walking in your purpose. Like me, you may be imagining something to be more difficult than it really is. And remember, no matter how difficult, it is no problem for the God who created all and can do all things. Don’t assume you can’t get into medical school, don’t fear working in ministry because of what others may think, don’t doubt that you can open and maintain your own business, but instead, do the research, pray to the Lord and make the effort, your best effort towards achieving that goal. I haven’t always lived by the following quote, but it has been told to me since I was a little girl, “do your best and let God do the rest!”

Another reason changing the string wasn’t difficult, is because I watched a YouTube video that instructed me how to change it. It would have been very difficult without using instructions. God has given us instructions to fulfill the challenging, difficult, sometimes foreign to us goals and purposes in our lives. Not only has He given us His Holy Word to read and follow, but He is available to us through prayer and through the presence of His Holy Spirit. We don’t have to face challenges, battles and our purpose, alone. Do your best and let God do the rest! Be encouraged!

“And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭9:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭17:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:1-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬
